First 5 Riverside, the Riverside County Children & Families Commission, is seeking part-time social media marketing, public relations and graphic design interns for our public information unit. We are seeking articulate, organized and detail-oriented college students to join our team one or two days a week as we expand efforts to increase early childhood development awareness throughout Riverside County. Your efforts will assist in targeting and engaging stakeholders, including parents, providers and legislators, in meaningful ways. This is a temporary, part-time, unpaid Internship. We are happy to comply with requirements needed for school credit.

As a First 5 Riverside intern you could assist with any of the following:
• Finding creative ways to engage people within target demographics including demonstrations, displays, presentations, community outreach and special events
• Maintaining First 5 Riverside’s website and social media presence including content development, outreach and promotion
• Contributing to the development of public information materials including design, content and distribution  
• Other non-specific duties as become necessary.

The ideal intern candidate will have superior communication skills and be exceptionally e-savvy.
Students interested in applying for the Social Media/Marketing internship should be Marketing, Business, Communications or Journalism majors, with 3 years of experience on the Web and a solid understanding of youth markets.
Students interested in applying for the Public Relations internship should be majoring in Public Relations, Communications or Marketing. Applicants should have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and experience providing customer service, public outreach and/or event planning.
Students interested in applying for the Graphic Design internship should be majoring in a related field and have previous experience using graphic design and website software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, WordPress).
