Mission:
To provide information and encourage discussion of issues that affect families in their communities, focusing on advocacy, problem-solving and empowering families in Riverside County.
The Faith-Based Partnership For Community Change is a collaboration between the faith community and First 5 Riverside. The partnership's goal is to identify, promote, and strengthen access to community resources for families so that our children have the best start in life.
First 5 California launched the Leading Ladies for School Readiness program in February 2007 as part of a statewide effort to educate African American parents and caregivers on the importance of school readiness. Leading Ladies for School Readiness is a partnership between First 5 California, First 5 Riverside, and leading ladies of the African American church. Through this historic partnership, leading ladies, women who play a leadership role within their church, serve as local advocates educating parents, caregivers, congregations and community leaders on the importance of preparing children to enter school ready to learn.

First 5 California and First 5 Riverside began distributing an updated Kit for New Parents April 5, 2007. The new kit provides a free, comprehensive parenting resource that includes everything from practical advice on prenatal care to information on a child’s first years.
A “portable medical record” helps parents and caregivers manage and organize their child’s health care needs and history by providing a place to record important information about your child to be shared with medical, school, and other professionals.
The overarching mission of the First 5 Riverside Service Corps is to provide comprehensive support to children age 0 to 5 and their families to ensure that children are developmentally prepared to learn when they enter school. First 5 Riverside's AmeriCorps staff engages community members in providing services to children and families (such as literacy education, health outreach and education and parent education).
Community Conversations engages Riverside County's parents, grandparents, child care providers, teachers - anyone who cares about the future of children - in discussions about the needs of young children and their families.
