BUILDING CHILD CARE CAPACITY (BCCC)

High quality early care and education helps children establish a strong foundation for success in school and beyond. It is also important to economic development, generating revenue in local communities and reducing absenteeism in the workplace. For parents, child care is like a road—they can't get to work without it.

The First 5 Riverside Child Care Capacity Building Unit assists in the Commission’s efforts in expanding the availability of quality, accessible and affordable child care services in Riverside County. The unit provides free technical assistance, resources and connections to those expanding or opening new child care facilities. First 5 also works with business, government, finance, economic development, housing and child care industry professionals to increase child care spaces by streamlining the process for construction, renovation and expansion of child care centers and creating supportive child care policies. A county-wide collaborative called the ABCD Task Force meets regular to accomplish similar goals. See First 5 Riverside’s Calendar for upcoming meetings, events and workshops.
